It’s amazing to this writer, what one can discover about any topic of discussion once they begin to do some deep research.
Think about your own attitude and opinions when it comes to the subject of immigration into these United States of America. Do you see yourself as very well informed or sufficiently informed and able to discuss the matter in a persuasive means?
I thought of myself that way. It turns out that I was very wrong. I suspect that there are millions of citizens living in America who are in my overloaded boat and will not realize it until their little craft is swamped and sinking. Many of you should start bailing right about now. I hear that there are sharks in these waters.
I would be willing to bet that many of you believe that the large bronze plaque which is located in the base of The Statue Of Liberty; the one that contains those words that have been so frequently cited by yesterday’s and today’s politicians, has been there for as long as the statue itself. WRONG!

Her Poem
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
MOTHER OF EXILES. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
I would point out here, that the author (Emma Lazarus) declined the request to compose an original work for the purpose of raising funds to pay for the erection of France's gift, but changed her mind when it was suggested "that she consider what the statue would mean to the thousands of immigrants who would see it as they sailed into New York harbor and Ellis Island, where they would be processed before being allowed to enter the country."
I mean "Who would see it" is a bit of a stretch of the reality of the actual circumstances. They certainly could not view it without magnification of some sort from their positions on the ships that transported them to Ellis Island. Even today one must be on the island which the statue was erected on and standing relatively CLOSE to it to see and read it with their naked eyes. I know for sure that none of the illegal immigrants crossing into our county from our southern or northern borders can see it. So, they have not been officially invited to come, no matter how one interprets the poem's meaning.
AREN'T YOU SICK OF IT YET? All those bleeding heart Liberals playing the emotional card, attempting to create artificial compassion within their constituents.
DACA! What is that ... really? It's a means of side-stepping our immigration laws. Criminals who have been successful at hiding their offspring from the authorities until they are young adults are ignored. Then, somehow, someone persuaded our government to allow those children special privileges, by granting them supports of varying types. This maneuver created an advantage for them over all others who have earned the right to become citizens the correct way. "WHAT ABOUT US THEY SHOUT!" But their words fall on the deaf ears and hardened hearts of politicians, hungry for more alien votes.
The RED HERRING has become one of Trump's HATERS frequent tools of distractions.
Our country does not need to add hundreds of thousands to our welfare and Medicaid burden. Obama leeched billions from our Social Security Funds.
"Get your hands out of our pockets!" we retirees, are shouting. They won't be happy until they find some way to hasten death for all of us. They see all that money and think it is theirs to use, however. Well! Think again you thieving skunks.
