Every person I’ve seen and heard while TV News was on, was saying the same thing. See something-Say something, then, they added: “DO SOMETHING!”
What makes this mass shooting event any different from all the others that preceded it? Go ahead, gather all the facts you can concerning it. The known facts are easy to gather. The Media will provide them for you. Are those facts accurate? Can you trust what they tell you? I wouldn’t bet your life on it.
There are three hundred and twenty million or so people living in the United States. I just read that there is an estimated three hundred million guns owned by those same people. I’ve got one of that number. It’s a small revolver. Even if I kept it loaded and the safety was on, there is no way a child could fire it. The same would be true for many untrained young people or adults. I could drive nails with the butt with no problems. I could bust the skull of an intruder with it if I felt threatened or, God forbid; if I had enough warning that danger was coming, I could fire it at an intruder five times and pray that my aim was accurate. I’d be aiming at their head for sure so it could be iffy.
I’ve got some time to wait if one of you out here on the internet has a suggestion that might be the badly needed solution for our nation's gun problems. Give it some thought. What should we do? There are no stupid suggestions, so don’t be shy or afraid of being put down by these others. They don’t have a solution either. In fact, I’d say most of them haven’t even given the matter any thought at all. They understand how futile regular people’s solutions usually turn out. Who are we supposed to talk to that has the ability to put a good thought into action? Certainly not those idiots we’ve elected to act for us.
They are too busy fighting and hating the current President and his party. Do you have the guts to step-in during a street fight, trying to separate the angry participants before someone gets hurt or killed? They can’t hear the Police sirens approaching the scene. There’s blood in the water and the sharks are circling; do they care? NOPE!
It’s going to take something earth-shattering to get their attention. Something like changing the currently established Law of the Land. Amending the second amendment, rewriting the words so the meaning is crystal clear. Leaving no wiggle room for the manipulators to use to spin the meaning to the way they see it.
Our people will need to come together as one mind, one voice; a force of will that no politician can counter and fill the streets of the capital and our hometowns with throngs demanding that their will be heard and acted upon.
Draining the swamp was a good proposal; when will it be completed? Most of those professional politicians need to be put out to pasture without our nation’s forever support.
You know, I did some research this morning on what Australia did to promote real, gun control.
I don’t believe the same tactics would work in the U.S.. There will be blood before that can happen here. How can a government buy back something that no one is willing to sell? If you think the war on drugs has been difficult, what do you suppose the war on gun ownership would be like?
We cannot depend on the government we have today to pass any bills that will help. I read this morning that the Senate failed to pass four proposals put before them that related to some form of gun controls. Why? Who knows? Probably not enough perks attached to them as asked for by their puppet-masters; the ones pulling their strings.
I don’t know what the gun manufacturers would do if gun sales were totally banned in our country. A lot of jobs would be lost unless they find something else to produce, like non-lethal items.
The same might be said for the proposed solution I heard someone mention recently; controlling the availability of ammunition for all guns. If someone thinks that might work, please don’t spread it around or else everyone with guns will start stocking up on ammo before access is cut off.
